City staff recommended some funding for the proposed Tide to Town trail network that I discussed in a recent column. DeLoach wants $6.7 million be earmarked for specific phases of the project. As a longtime advocate for pedestrian safety, better neighborhood connectivity and improved quality of life for residents, I was heartened to see so much support for sidewalk improvements, Tide to Town and the redesign of some of our most dangerous streets.
